Nachdem ich 32 dieser Rautensterne mit der Maschine genäht habe fürchte ich keine Y-Nähte mehr. :-))
Today was a sewing-day for me, after the centerblock I made the first round out of 28 stars. No, I didn't do a night shift, the stars were ready done before I sewed the corners to the centersquare. I only had to piece the blocks for the borders.
After piecing 32 diamondstars with my sewingmachine I'm no longer afraid of y-seams. :-))

Your scrappy diamond stars around the checkerboard look fantastic!!! Good for you to overcome your fear of Y-seams. I have that fear too and too afraid to attempt it without some one on one help and instruction. So I cheat and use HSTs instead. ;)
